Commercial applications

Four ways to put your space to work.

Illustrative commercial real estate setting

Commercial real estate

Give owners, tenants, and leasing teams a clearer view of offices, retail environments, and other commercial spaces before scheduling a visit.

Illustrative design & construction setting

Design & construction

Create a visual record of existing conditions to support discussions between owners, architects, contractors, and project managers. Define any technical export requirements before capture.

Illustrative facilities management setting

Facilities management

Give distributed teams a common visual reference for remote building review, maintenance discussions, and renovation planning across a property portfolio.

Illustrative property marketing setting

Property marketing

Let prospects explore a property beyond a photo gallery. Public-facing models can complement your website, leasing presentations, and other approved marketing materials.

A visual reference for real decisions

A building is easier to understand when everyone can walk through it.

Photos show individual views. A Matterport digital twin connects those views into a navigable representation of a property, giving remote stakeholders a way to explore the layout and understand how spaces relate to one another.

Our commercial Matterport and 3D scanning service supports teams across Northern California. We start with the reason for the scan: marketing a vacancy, documenting existing conditions, planning work, or helping facilities staff review a building remotely. That purpose shapes what we capture and how we prepare the handoff.

A public virtual tour and an internal facilities model serve different audiences. We scope access, areas of coverage, and deliverables with you before capture, so the finished model fits its intended use.

Scope the right outputs

Built around the deliverables you actually need.

We use the Matterport Pro3 LiDAR camera to capture spaces for Matterport digital twins. The interactive model is the starting point; optional exports and documentation should be specified in your proposal rather than assumed to be included.

Interactive 3D model

Explore the captured space through a browser-based walkthrough. Agree on the coverage, viewpoints, and intended audience before the site visit.

Project-specific outputs

Discuss floor plans, point-cloud exports, or downstream CAD/BIM requirements at scoping. Availability, suitability, and additional charges depend on the requested output and platform plan.

Access & hosting

Confirm who owns the account, who receives access, how the model is shared, and how hosting and renewal will be handled.

For technical context, see Matterport’s Pro3 specifications and Matterport’s platform plans. We’ll confirm the actual deliverables in your quote.

Northern California

Northern California coverage, with a portfolio mindset.

Based in the Sacramento region, we welcome commercial and public-sector scanning inquiries across Northern California, including Contra Costa County and San Francisco. Tell us whether you need one property or a coordinated rollout across several locations.

For a county or agency portfolio, a consistent brief matters as much as the camera. Shared naming conventions, a location schedule, approved access requirements, and a defined handoff make a multi-site project easier to manage. Travel, scheduling, and site-specific requirements are confirmed in the proposal.

Your questions

Commercial scanning questions, answered.

Understand the scope, outputs, access, and hosting before you commission a commercial scan.

Discuss your project
How is a facilities scan different from a marketing tour?
A marketing tour is intended for an approved public audience. A facilities scan may include operational areas and be shared only with authorized staff. The intended audience and exclusions should be part of the capture brief.
Can you scan more than one building?
Yes. We can scope multi-location projects. Include the property list, approximate sizes, access windows, and preferred schedule so we can plan the work.
Are floor plans and CAD/BIM files included?
Do not assume they are included. Tell us the formats and intended use before capture; optional exports, third-party processing, and technical requirements are scoped separately.
How much does commercial Matterport scanning cost?
The quote depends on the size and complexity of the space, number of locations, access arrangements, requested deliverables, travel, and hosting. Send the project details for a scoped estimate.
How long will the project take?
Capture and delivery timing depend on the building and the agreed outputs. We confirm a schedule after reviewing the property list, site access, and project requirements.
What is the difference between a photograph and a digital twin?
Photographs show individual viewpoints. A digital twin connects captured views into a navigable spatial reference, helping a viewer understand the relationship between rooms and surrounding areas.
Can facilities teams use Matterport beyond property marketing?
Yes. Depending on the scope, a model can support remote layout review, maintenance coordination, staff familiarization, and renovation discussions. We start with the operational use your team needs.
Does a model update itself after the property changes?
No. The model represents the captured conditions. Significant changes may need recapture, and any linked documentation requires a plan for keeping it current.
Who can access a commercial model?
Access depends on the account and sharing configuration. We discuss whether the model is intended for approved public marketing or internal use and confirm the handoff and hosting arrangements.
